Die Casting Machine Safety Operation Procedures

1. Purpose

To ensure operator safety and normal equipment operation, these safety operation procedures must be strictly followed when using die casting machines for production processing.

2. Pre-Operation Preparation

  • Wear all required personal protective equipment: safety glasses, protective gloves, safety shoes, and protective clothing
  • Check that the die casting machine equipment is intact and all parts are secure
  • Verify that all safety guards, interlocks, and emergency stops are functional
  • Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and free of obstacles
  • Confirm adequate ventilation and lighting in the work area
  • Operators must be healthy and not under the influence of alcohol or drugs

3. Die Casting Machine Startup Procedure

  1. Turn on main power and verify all indicator lights
  2. Start hydraulic pump and check system pressure
  3. Verify cooling water flow and temperature
  4. Preheat the mold to specified temperature
  5. Check that the injection system is properly set
  6. Run a dry cycle to verify all movements are correct
  7. Begin production only after all checks pass

4. During Operation Safety Rules

  • Never place hands or body parts between mold halves during operation
  • Keep all safety doors closed during automatic cycles
  • Monitor injection pressure and temperature indicators continuously
  • Do not leave the machine unattended while in operation
  • Immediately stop the machine if abnormal sounds or conditions occur
  • Never bypass safety interlocks or guards

5. Emergency Procedures

  • Know the location of all emergency stop buttons
  • In case of molten metal spill, evacuate and follow spill response protocol
  • For hydraulic fluid leaks, stop machine immediately and contain the spill
  • Report all incidents and near-misses to the supervisor

6. Post-Operation Procedures

  • Allow the mold to cool properly before shutdown
  • Turn off the hydraulic system and main power
  • Clean the machine and work area thoroughly
  • Record production data and any issues in the operation log
