Preparing the Steam Sterilizer
Before each use, place the unit on a stable surface with good ventilation. Verify that power and water connections are secure. Check that the pressure indicator shows zero and inspect door seals for damage. Add clean distilled water to the marked level to prevent scale formation.
Loading Items Correctly
Use appropriate breathable wrapping materials for items being processed. Arrange items with adequate spacing to allow steam circulation throughout the chamber. Keep the total load below 80 percent of chamber capacity. For liquid containers, leave space for expansion and do not fully seal caps. Open all instrument joints before loading.
Operating the Cycle
Select the program that matches the materials being processed. Standard parameters are typically 121 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes at appropriate pressure. Allow the unit to complete the full cycle including the air removal phase, which is essential for proper heat penetration. Monitor the cycle progress and verify that parameters remain stable throughout.
After the Cycle
Wait for pressure to return to zero before opening the door. Use heat-protective gloves when removing processed items. Check that chemical indicators show appropriate color change. Store processed materials in a clean area with labels showing the date and expiration. Clean the chamber after use and leave the door slightly open for drying.
