Can I put meat and dairy products into the machine?
Yes, the HONbase composter machine has a high-temperature sterilization function that heats the machine to at least 70°C (160°F) for 60 minutes, killing 97.3-99.9% of harmful pathogens and bacteria such as E. coli and Salmonella. In principle, once the heating process is complete, the compost is safe to use as fertilizer. It is recommended to also consult local regulations regarding compost sterilization standards before use.
Can the compost be placed directly in my garden?
Yes, the compost can be used directly in gardens or for plants. However, since it is highly concentrated, it needs to be mixed with soil and used at a 10:1 ratio (soil: compost). Additionally, once the compost has been stored for 4 weeks, it can be directly used for gardening applications.
What happens if non-degradable items like plastic bags enter the HONbase composter machine?
