Press Brake Pre-Operation Preparation
The press brake preparation phase is critical for ensuring safe operation and quality bending results. Before beginning any work operators must complete thorough equipment inspections and proper setup procedures.
Equipment Status Check
Confirm that the press brake is in good condition with all components including upper die lower die hydraulic system and electrical system operating normally. Inspect dies for cracks wear or other damage and ensure they match workpiece dimensions and requirements. Verify that safety devices such as protective covers and emergency stop buttons are functioning properly.
Material and Environmental Preparation
Select appropriate materials based on design requirements ensuring material thickness and width meet machine processing capacity. Check materials for damage and clean surfaces of oil or rust before processing. Ensure the work area is clean with adequate lighting and ventilation. Prepare necessary measuring instruments like calipers and tape measures and calibrate them for accuracy.
Die Selection and Installation
Choose the correct die type such as V-die U-die or rectangular die based on material type and bending angle requirements. Install upper and lower dies correctly with proper positioning and secure fixation. The lower die opening size should typically be 6 to 10 times the material thickness.
Parameter Configuration
Set the bending angle according to design specifications on the control panel. Adjust bending force based on material type and thickness using the hydraulic system pressure regulation. Configure die clearance which should be 6 to 10 percent of material thickness for optimal results. Set appropriate bending speed with slower speeds for thicker materials and higher speeds for thinner materials.
