Sheet Bending Machine Operating Procedures
Sheet bending machines are widely used in metal fabrication to bend metal plates into various required shapes. Following proper operating procedures ensures operator safety and product quality.
Machine Startup and Material Loading
Turn on the power switch and confirm that parameter settings on the control panel are correct. Start the oil pump and verify normal operation before proceeding. Place the metal plate to be processed on the worktable and secure it using fixtures to prevent movement during bending. Ensure proper alignment with the bending line and check that both ends of the plate are evenly supported.
Bending Operation Execution
One person should provide unified command during bending work. Ensure close cooperation between the operator and material feeding personnel. Confirm all personnel are in safe positions before activating the bend. Execute the bend with smooth controlled motion while monitoring for any irregularities. Sheet material must be pressed firmly during bending to prevent the plate from lifting and causing injury.
Critical Safety Rules During Operation
Hands are strictly prohibited from being placed between the upper and lower dies. When adjusting the plate pressing die power must be cut off first. When the machine is working no personnel should stand behind the machine. Never press and bend plate material at one end only. If workpiece or die misalignment is found stop the machine for correction. Do not bend materials exceeding the machine rated capacity.
Post-Operation and Shutdown
After completing the bend remove the workpiece carefully and check quality using measuring tools. Before shutdown place wooden blocks under the oil cylinders and lower the slide plate to relieve hydraulic pressure. Exit the control system program before turning off power. Clean the worktable and surrounding area and return all tools to storage.
